Frequently Asked Questions—Practitioners
SST is a co-facilitated, multidisciplinary therapeutic model integrating psychotherapy with bodywork, neurofeedback, and/or acupuncture in real time. It addresses trauma and dysregulation across physiological, emotional, and energetic levels simultaneously.
SST engages multiple body and mind systems together, creating deep regulation, memory reconsolidation, and somatic release. This synchronized approach reaches layers of trauma that single-modality therapies may not access. Through direct engagement of the nervous system, traumatic memories are able to be re-encoded and re-stored, leading to an often rapid reduction in symptom intensity and intrusion.
Traditional therapy focuses mainly on talk and cognition. SST expands this by integrating body and energy systems—addressing trauma through several channels at once in a co-regulated, real-time session.
SST’s real-time co-facilitation model synchronizes multiple evidence-based disciplines within one session. This synergy often creates more efficient and profound results than isolated modalities alone.
